A Quilt For All Seasons

Although these two vintage quilts represent fall and spring, they will certainly keep you warm during the upcoming cold winter months. I love the vibrant colors of the flowers and the leaves! Both of these are fine examples of "appliqué" quilts, where the floral and leaf designs are pre-cut and hand sewn onto the quits. If you zoom in on the floral quilt, you will also be able to see a wonderful example of detailed hand quilting. While the quilt on the right is slightly more modern looking, it is special because of the large, bright appliqué leaves and the precisely-placed triangles comprising the border. I have never seen a quilt quite like this one.
