All In The Family

I recently acquired this wooden Shaker rack at an auction. While it was originally used as a drying rack, it works well to display these antique quilts. The quilt on the left is known as a "Postage Stamp" quilt, and dates back to 1880-1890. It has been in the same family for 5 or 6 generations, and was made in either Tennessee or Mississippi. The woman from whom I purchased this quilt provided me with a list of several of the previous owners. It's great to be able to preserve a piece of this family's history! I love it for that reason alone.
