I recently acquired this wooden Shaker rack at an auction. While it was originally used as a drying rack, it works well to display these antique quilts. The quilt on the left is known as a "Postage Stamp" quilt, and dates back to 1880-1890. It has been in the same family for 5 or 6 generations, and was made in either Tennessee or Mississippi. The woman from whom I purchased this quilt provided me with a list of several of the previous owners. It's great to be able to preserve a piece of this family's history! This quilt will be listed on the Collections page if you'd like to read more about it. The fun vintage quilt on the right is from the estate of the late, great Penny Marshall. I love it for that reason alone.
