Antique Signed Coverlet, 1868

This beautiful coverlet is a Jacquard style coverlet that is signed and dated in the corner by the weaver, William Ettinger, Aaronsburg Center County, 1868.  It features green, red and blue colors and measures approximately 86 x 84 inches, with short fringes on three sides.  It is a double weave coverlet, which means that the pattern shows on both sides, with opposite colors. There is a double border, the outer with stars and the inner with flower pots. It has a few small holes in the weaving, but overall is a sturdy coverlet in very good condition.
