Collection of Shaker Tinware

$150.00Price

Collection of Shaker Tin Ware.  Circa 19th C.  Including a canning funnel, scoop and tap.  The Shakers made extensive use of tin and Shaker tinsmiths made many utilitarian objects for both use within the community and for sale to the outside world.  As with many Shaker objects, Shaker tin ware is know for its simple design, graceful lines and quality of workmanship as well as an extensive use of patterns to make individual pieces to exacting standards and with an ease of production.  Many examples found today have their origins from the Canterbury, NH community.  This particular collection is believed to have come from Mt. Lebanon, NY.  Canning funnel is approximately 5 inches tall with the large opening being 4 1/2" wide.  The scoop is approximately 7" long and 3" wide at its widest point.  The tap is approximately 6" long. Provenance: Mt. Lebanon auction house which specializes in Shaker objects.  Please contact us with any questions or for additional photos.
