Antique Wool Hexagon Quilt, Circa 1870

This antique wool quilt has a hexagon, reclining diamonds pattern.  The fabrics are mostly wool challis and delaines.  Many of the fabrics are specialty cut to the center of the hexagon.  It measures 62 x 64.  It has medium to thin batting.  There is an amazing paisely cotton fabric on the reverse and is finished with a twill tape edge.  There is a bit of fraying around some of the edges, and some wear and fraying consistent with its age.  There is a new fabric sleeve sewn onto one edge for purposes of display.
