Shaker Pine Storage Box

Shaker Pine Storage Box.  Circa 19th Century.  Dovetail construction.  Original locking mechanism (no key).  Iron rat tail side carrying handles.  Attributed to Hancock community from the early 1850's.  Most likely used in a barn or shed.  Later wax application.  Measures approximately 30"L x 13"H x 14"D.  Purchased at Meissner Auction House, Mount Lebanon, New York, a well known dealer in Shaker collectibles.   Please contact us with any questions or for additional pictures.
