Turned Wood Glove Powder Shaker
Turned Wood Glove Powder Shaker. Mid to late 19th Century. Finely turned and finished. Opens by screwing off the top which reveals a compartment filled with glove powder. Long slender neck is for reaching into fingers of the glove. Measures approximately 5 inches tall. Purchased at auction where it was described as a needle case and attributed to a Mount Lebanon community tailor shop. As featured in our blog, "A Needle Case That's More Than Meets the Eye!".
